Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use Policy
Category: Security and Policies
To keep Givee a safe and positive place for everyone, there are rules around what you can share on your page. 📜 Here’s an overview of community guidelines and acceptable use:
1. No Harmful or Illegal Content:
Illegal Activities: Don’t use Givee to engage in or promote illegal acts. For example, no pages organizing criminal behavior, selling illegal drugs or weapons, etc.
Harassment/Hate: Content that bullies, harasses, or threatens someone is not allowed. Similarly, hate speech (attacks on people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, orientation, etc.) is strictly prohibited. Keep it respectful.
Violence and Extremism: Don’t glorify or incite violence. Terrorist or extremist propaganda is a big no.
Self-Harm: Content encouraging self-harm or suicide is not permitted. If you’re raising awareness or providing resources, that’s one thing, but anything seen as encouraging harmful behavior will be flagged.
2. Adult Content:
Pornography: Explicit pornographic content is generally not allowed (especially anything illegal like non-consensual or underage). If you’re linking to adult content sites, be mindful – this might violate policy or at least require a content warning. Givee is likely not an “adult content” platform.
Nudity/Artistic Content: Some non-pornographic nudity (like art or breastfeeding, etc.) might be tolerated if it’s clearly for non-sexual context, but err on side of caution. If your page is found to have overtly sexual content, Givee might take it down or ask you to remove it.
Gore/Graphic: Avoid graphic content. No gruesome injury pics or shock content.
3. Spam and Scams:
Spam: Don’t create pages that are just spammy ads or that mislead users (e.g., “FREE iPhone click here!” linking to questionable sites). Avoid excessive use of unrelated keywords just to drive traffic. Quality over quantity.
Phishing/Malware: Absolutely no links to malicious sites that try to steal info or harm devices. If you include external links on your Givee page, ensure they’re legit. Givee likely scans for known malicious URLs and will block them.
Multiple Accounts Abuse: Don’t make dozens of Givee accounts to game or spam the system. One person likely needs just one account or a few for legitimate projects.
4. Intellectual Property Respect:
Copyright: Only share content (images, text, videos) you have rights to or that you’re allowed to use. For example, don’t upload someone else’s artwork or music without permission. If you link to copyrighted material hosted elsewhere, ensure it’s legal (e.g., official YouTube video vs. someone’s pirated upload).
Trademark: Don’t impersonate brands or misuse trademarks in a way that confuses people into thinking your page is official if it’s not.
5. Impersonation and Misinformation:
Impersonation: Don’t pretend to be someone you’re not (especially not a known figure or another user). Parody is one thing (if clearly marked as parody), but straight-up impersonating violates trust.
Misinfo: In this day and age, spreading dangerous misinformation (like false medical advice, election disinfo, etc.) can be against policy. If your page shares info, ensure it’s accurate to the best of your knowledge and don’t knowingly spread falsehoods that could cause harm.
6. Child Safety:
No sexualization of minors, period. Also, if you’re sharing content about kids, it should be appropriate. Givee will likely ban any pages with child exploitation, child pornography (obviously illegal), or even borderline stuff involving minors in unsafe situations.
If your page is family/kid oriented, keep it wholesome and safe.
7. Use Your Page as Intended:
Givee pages are meant for link sharing, content curation, self-expression. Using the platform for something totally off-base (like using it as a file hosting for huge files, or some programmatic abuse) might violate acceptable use.
Don’t attempt to hack or disrupt Givee’s services. That’s also covered under acceptable use (no DDoS, no reverse engineering beyond allowed, etc.)
Enforcement:
If your page violates guidelines, Givee might take action: remove the offending content, unpublish or delete your page, and possibly ban your account for serious or repeated offenses.
You might get a warning email for minor issues asking you to adjust content.
Serious breaches (e.g. child exploitation, credible threats) could be reported to law enforcement as required by law.
Reporting:
If you come across a Givee page that seems to break these rules, Givee likely has a way to report it (maybe an email or a report button). They’ll review and handle accordingly.
Why It Matters:
These guidelines ensure a safe environment and protect Givee (and users) from legal or ethical issues. By following them, you also build trust with your audience (they feel safe clicking your link in bio because it’s not something nasty).
Also, if you violate rules, beyond your page removal, it can harm your reputation and possibly legal consequences if severe. Not worth it – just keep content clean and within the lines.
When in Doubt:
If you’re unsure about something you want to share, err on the side of caution or contact Givee support for clarification. For instance, “Can I link to my OnlyFans?” might be a question — often link-in-bio platforms allow it as long as your Givee page itself doesn’t show adult content, but check terms (some services banned such links at times, not sure about Givee).
Remember that what’s acceptable outside might still need a filter on the platform. (E.g., swearing probably fine in moderation, but harassing someone with slurs is not.)
In essence, be respectful, responsible, and kind. Use Givee to uplift your content, not to tear others down or break laws. If you follow these guidelines, you’ll have no worries and your page will flourish in the community. 🌟
